| DETAILS: |
The name "Final Rope" is for clarification. The obstacle's real name is unknown, although Ninja Warrior calls it the "Rope Climb".
During competitions 1-17, the Final Rope was the last obstacle a competitor had to pass to achieve total victory. The competitor must climb the rope (which is suspended from a large tower) to the top platform and press the button before time expires.
If the competitor does not reach the top platform in time, the rope is cut and the competitor falls (they are caught by a safety line). For competitions 1-4 this was the only obstacle on the final stage, and the competitor had 30 seconds to climb the 15m (49 ft 2.55 in) rope. The Final Rope was shortened to 10m (73ft 9.83in) for competitions 5-17 after the introduction of the Spider Climb. Together, the Spider Climb and Final Rope measured 22.5m (73ft 9.83in) during competitions 5-17 although the time allotment remained at 30 seconds. |
